July 3, 2018

August 1, 2018 is the deadline for submission of abstracts to two upcoming conferences that will explore themes of preparing for and mitigating the public health impacts of drought.

Researchers investigating relationships between drought and public health are invited to submit abstracts to either of two conferences that will be exploring the theme “Understanding Linkages Between Drought and Public Health: Can We Improve Drought Early Warning?” Conferences are:

  • American Geophysical Union’s Fall Meeting, December 10-14, 2018, in Washington, D.C., GeoHealth focus group.
  • American Meteorological Society’s annual meeting, January 6-10, 2019, in Phoenix, Arizona, 10th Conference on Environmental Health section.

August 1 is the abstract submission deadline for either conference.

Both sessions are co-convened by the National Drought Mitigation Center, the National Integrated Drought Information System, the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
