About Leah
Leah joined the National Drought Mitigation Center staff as a communications specialist in summer 2022. She has an M.S. in Science Writing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she also wrote for the MIT School of Science Communications Office. Previously, she worked as a social scientist in North Carolina researching intergovernmental relationships around disaster aid and inequities in hazards planning.
