Project WET

The National Drought Mitigation Center, together with Nebraska Project WET, University of Nebraska Extension and the Project WET Foundation, will be developing a Discover a Waters of Nebraska KIDS activity booklet.  The goal of the booklet is to inform, educate and stimulate, by getting young people interested in Nebraska's diverse water resources and the challenges of managing them in ways that are good for people and the environment. Experiments, maps and fun exercises aimed at upper elementary and middle school students will highlight Nebraska's climate, hydrology and geography; the past, present and future users of Nebraska's water; and water management challenges and opportunities. The booklet will be an outstanding resource for teachers, resource managers and educators, parents and other community members in communicating the importance of our vital and amazing water resources.  If you would like more information about the project, please contact Meghan Sittler (msittler2@unl.edu, 402-472-2712) or Donna Woudenberg (dwoudenberg2@unl.edu, 402-472-8287).
