 The web site of the National Integrated Drought Information System is live at drought.gov Drought monitoring content is being developed and should be available on the site this fall. Meanwhile, read the NIDIS Implementation Plan, available as a pdf from drought.gov.
The National Drought Mitigation Center is a key non-federal partner in the congressionally mandated effort to develop the NIDIS portal, a one-stop drought monitoring site, and to develop drought impacts datasets and response plans. The President signed the multi-agency NIDIS Act into Public Law in December 2006. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is the lead federal agency.
